Where Profit meets Purpose

GCCI ESG Task Force Mission

Returning for its second year, the GCCI Gujarat Sustainability Summit focuses on building a roadmap for Gujarat's future. Centered around the journey to 2047 and 2070, the summit brings sustainability, industry, and profitability together.

- GCCI ESG Task Force Charter

The GCCI Gujarat Sustainability Summit is a flagship event - first of its kind for Gujarat - where industry members and professionals share a platform to discuss sustainability challenges and opportunities. With Gujarat contributing 16% to India's total industrial production from just 6% of its land area, the stakes and the opportunity to lead could not be higher. The state is an established base for chemicals, textiles, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, engineering, automobiles, and food processing - all sectors at the frontier of India's green transition.

The GCCI ESG Task Force unites entrepreneurs, leaders, academics, and experts, offering diverse expertise to tackle sustainability challenges. Their collective experience ensures innovative solutions, capacity building, and resilience in navigating the evolving sustainability landscape.

Carbon Footprint - GSS 2025

From measurement to carbon-negative

Every emission was tracked using ICAO, IPCC, FAO, and BEE methodology. While actual attendance far exceeded projections, a dedicated Miyawaki forest plantation made the summit effectively carbon-negative.

Pre-event est.
15.9 t CO2
Actual emitted
55.7 t CO2
Forest offset
105-120 t CO2
The dedicated 2-acre Miyawaki plantation at Kensville, Ahmedabad (1,000 trees) absorbed 105-120 metric tons of CO2 over 3 years - more than double the summit's actual footprint. The event is carbon-negative.
Miyawaki forest, Kensville
1,000 trees across 2 dedicated acres absorb 35,000-40,000 kg CO2/year - far exceeding the summit's footprint and continuing to grow.
